Ways to help

Many people want to help but are not in a position to host Ukrainian families themselves.  Below are just some examples of ways interested parties can help.  We are also especially keen now to hear from anyone who might be able to be a new sponsor to an existing Ukrainian individual or family needing to move on from their first host.  Also from anyone who would like to offer work opportunities.  Ukrainians in the area have a wealth of professional skills to offer, including floristry, make-up, interior design, knitting/crochet and IT programming, to name but a few.  Contact us at the email address below if you can help.

  • Buddying (providing additional support to a family, eg when hosts are not available or on holiday)

  • Help with transport (e.g. lifts, taxis or donations/loans of bikes)

  • Donations of clothing, toys, kit for babies and toddlers, etc)

  • Help with shopping or delivery of meals

  • Invitations for meals/socials

  • Church services, activities and socials

  • Furniture, laptop loans, stationery, etc.

  • Joining local clubs, guided walks and leisure activities

  • Help accessing education, language classes, translators

  • Social opportunities in the village

  • Employment opportunities

  • Tutoring

  • Home maintenance/handyman/garden help.

If you can help on any of these aspects or others, please let us know by emailing us at  A new WhatsApp group is now available for people needing and offering donations of items and services - please let us know if you'd like to be added.
